Qantas is adding further capacity to the United States, with the launch of direct flights from Melbourne to Honolulu from early-May 2025.

On sale from today, the new service will boost capacity to the USA by adding more than 40,000 seats per year to the Hawaiian capital, in addition to existing Sydney to Honolulu services with Qantas and Jetstar which collectively operate eight times per week.

“We are thrilled to continue to enhance our network in America with the launch of a new route from Melbourne to Honolulu, bringing a new, tropical destination to our Melbourne customers,” said Qantas CEO – International, Cam Wallace.

“Our new service ensures continued connectivity for Melburnians to Hawaii, while enabling Jetstar to redeploy its Boeing 787 aircraft to other destinations and long-haul routes.”

The new Qantas flights will operate three times per week with an Airbus A330 aircraft and coinciding with the launch of the new Qantas service, Jetstar will cease its current twice weekly Dreamliner 787 Melbourne to Honolulu flights from 30 April 2025, with the aircraft to be deployed on another long-haul route.
