Wayfarer TV: an insider’s guide to executive travel (series 01 trailer)

In the executive travel TV show WAYFARER, join host James Wilkinson as he takes viewers to across the globe to uncover some of the best hotels, bars, restaurants, galleries, shops, attractions, airports and airlines the world has to offer.

Series One, which will be screened on Sky News Australia from late January 2018, takes viewers to London, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Berlin, Singapore, Honolulu and Maui (Hawaii).

In each episode of WAYFARER, Wilkinson uncovers top spots for executive travellers, both while away for work and also for leisure. He takes viewers inside the American Bar at London’s Savoy Hotel, to the best restaurants in Singapore including Burnt Ends, behind the scenes at London’s Heathrow Terminal 5, uncovers the best spots on Maui and much more.

WAYFARER is a talent-driven TV show and the first series features star British Chef Jason Atherton, the world’s best bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana, Australian rocker Toby Rand, AllSaints fashion label founder Stuart Trevor, British Airways’ Chairman and CEO Alex Cruz, and AccorHotels’ Chairman and CEO, Sebastien Bazin amongst others.

The full 30-minute TV episodes will be broadcast on Sky News Australia weekly from late-January 2018, while special web-only episodes will be featured on this website also on a weekly basis.

Hosting the Wayfarer TV series is award-winning journalist James Wilkinson, who has been writing about and commenting on travel for the past 20 years and who serves as the Editor-In-Chief of wayfarer.travel.

For the last 17 years, James, a former winner of the Australian Travel Writer of the Year award, has been the Editor-In-Chief of the Asia-Pacific region’s highly respected hotel industry magazine, Hotel and Accommodation Management (HM), and its online products.

He is also the Travel Editor for Time Out Australia and Managing Editor of SPICE magazine and SpiceNews. James also serves as the content chair for the Australasian Hotel Industry Conference (AHICE) and chief judge of the HM Awards. Since late-2012, James has also been a regular guest (appearing on over 100 episodes) on the Sky News Business Channel television show ‘Business Class’, where he commentates on trends in business travel, primarily aviation, hotels and destinations.
