Wayfarer TV exclusive: Tourism Australia’s Managing Director talks post-crisis recovery plans

by James Wilkinson

Tourism Australia’s Managing Director, Phillipa Harrison, says Australia needs to be ready for the post-coronavirus recovery – and absolutely will be – once the global crisis tapers off, with major marketing initiatives locked and ready to go.

Speaking exclusively on video to Wayfarer Host and Editor-In-Chief, James Wilkinson, at the ‘Destination Australia’ conference in Adelaide on Thursday (Mar 12), Harrison said the nation needed to be on the front foot when the world was ready to travel again.

Headlining the push will be a new ‘There’s Still Nothing Like Australia’ campaign, which Harrison said was was about capturing the hearts of global travellers and showcasing the nation in all of its glory.

Tourism Australia has also been actively promoting domestic tourism on the back of the devastating bushfires earlier this year. Efforts will be ramped-up on the back of the Australian Government’s economic stimulus packaged announced over the past two weeks by Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
