What are your favourite recommendations for activities and experiences on property at Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes?

Our recommendations for the best activities and experiences on property are the spa, the water activities and the kids club.

Our spa, Diane Barrière, offers great products and savoir-faire to enjoy a nice moment. It is the perfect place to have a massage after a long day at the beach or a makeup session before going to dinner in Cannes.

We attached the spa brochure to this email so you can have an overview of our propositions.

Relax on the wharf at Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic

Our water activities are available from our pier (located in front of the hotel, at our private beach Ciro’s.

There are different options for kids and adults – like flyfishing, tubing, parasailing and wakeboarding – and it is also possible to rent a taxi boat for a few hours or the day in order to discover and do some snorkelling between the two islands located in front of Cannes, being Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat.

Finally, our kids club named Le Studio by Petit VIP is highly appreciated by our guests and especially the children.

It is accessible from children ages between 4 and 12 years old and offers a large variety of activities (indoor and outdoor), as well as a lunch at our restaurant Le Fouquet’s, by reservation.

Cannes offers scenery and style by the ocean

Tell us about some of your favourite experiences and tours in Cannes and the Riviera.

Visit Le Suquet and discover the old town of Cannes. Admire the view over the city, the port, La Croisette and the Lérins Islands.

At the foot of the old town lies the bay of Cannes with the Forville market with typical local shops around it (butchers, charcuteries, fishmongers, bakers, wine merchants, and more).

The market traders sing out the virtues of local produce, including tomatoes, olive oil, freshly-caught fish and tasty aniseed biscuits.

Facing Le Suquet, the Old Port, the oldest part of which, the Quai St Pierre, dates back to 1838, and which welcomes old sailing boats and yachts.

Head to Le Suquet and discover the old town of Cannes

La Croisette is the flagship location for shopping. This Boulevard is the signature of Cannes, and is also the location of the haute couture shops and the deluxe clothing shops

Take a trip to the Lérins Islands. Since the Quai Laubeuf, Sainte-Marguerite is the first of the Lérins Islands.

Almost entirely covered with a forest of Aleppo pines and green oaks, the island has preserved a number of historical relics, including the Iron Mask Museum and Fort Royal, an underwater and land archaeology museum.

Hemmed of beaches and surrounded by shaded paths, it offers a dimension adventure for a stay in Cannes.

Cannes is well known for its beach restaurants on the Croisette

Famous since the Middle Ages for the spiritual influence of his abbey, Saint-Honorat is the smaller of the two.

Inhabited by a community of Cistercian monks, it lives in the rhythm of the seasons, barely disturbed by the visits of tourists and by the regular visits of the Cannes inhabitants, who like to enjoy a moment of pure serenity only 15 minutes away from the Croisette.

In Cannes, there are also a lot of sportive activities to enjoy, such as the Golf Cannes Mougins and its 22 golf courses, padel, tennis and more.

The French Riviera also have some must-do villages to visit, including Saint Paul De Vence, Monaco and Saint Tropez.

Explore the quaint village of Saint Paul de Vence

SAINT PAUL DE VENCE

Following the coast road, drive to the old Antibes, harbour and its ramparts, then Biot to visit a glass factory, ‘Verrerie de Biot’. Saint Paul de Vence has its cabled stone streets, many galleries and nice views overlooking the sea and visit a modern art museum, Fondation Maeght.

The luxurious seaside Principality of Monaco

MONACO

Upon your arrival in Monaco, stop in Eze to discover this medieval village overlooking the french riviera, and take the opportunity to visit the perfume factory Fragonard, driving through the village of La Turbie which is the ‘Trophy of the alps’, before you reach the principality of Monaco, featuring the Prince’s palace, changing of the guards at 11.55am, the Casino de Monte-Carlo, the gardens and the Grand Prix circuit.

Spend the day in the stylish Saint Tropez

SAINT TROPEZ

A full day in world famous trendy Saint Tropez, world known by the jet set people for its glamour, shopping, famous beaches and nightlife.

Driving along the ‘Esterel’, beautiful red rocks, join Port Grimaud ‘the little Venice’ with its tiny bridges, squares and canals. Reach Pampelonne beaches for lunch by Gassin and Ramatuelle villages.

In order to access those villages, we recommend a driver at your disposal in order to avoid the stress due to the traffic.

Our guests usually like to rent a boat for the day or a helicopter in order to access these cities more easily.

This is part of our suggestions for guests and we are always very happy to assist the guests organizing their day trips during their holidays or weekends.

The picturesque town of Grasse is a must-visit

What are some of the unique cultural and gourmet experiences the team can organise in the local area and along the Riviera?

France is famous for its great gastronomy and winery and we can organize some wine tours in Provence, thanks to some chateaux that offer great options.

CHÂTEAU DE BELLET, NICE

Château de Bellet (30 minutes from Cannes) is a unique site surrounded by the mountains and the sea situated at the peak of the AOP Bellet in the hills of Nice.

During the eighteenth century, the Barons of Bellet started planting vines on these hills, thus giving their name to both the estate and the appellation.

Then, why not have lunch in Monaco or discover the castel hills of Nice.

A number of top wineries are a short drive from Cannes

CHÂTEAU DE BERNE, LORGUES

Located one hour from Cannes, Château de Berne’s terroir lies in the Haut-Pays region, made up of limestone hills and valleys.

This is the Provence of the interior, unknown and secret, offering structured red wines and delicate white and rosé wines.

They offer three wine tastings from €20 per person, you can have lunch in one of their restaurants, L’Olivier de Berne or Bistrot du Château de Berne.

Otherwise, we recommend you have lunch at Chez Bruno (located 10 minutes driving distance from Chateau de Berne), a famous restaurant for truffle lovers.

Visit a perfume factory in Grasse

GUIDED TOURS

Also, we can organize some guided tours of cities such as Monaco and Eze upon request.

We also recommend our guests to visit Grasse and especially one of the perfume factories.

The guests can either enjoy a private visit or a group visit and then, they can become creators of their own perfume depending on their favourite essences.

This special activity is highly appreciated and gives unforgettable memories of the French Riviera.

Dine on the beach at Ciro’s Cannes – Plage Barrière Le Majestic

Cannes is well known for its dining scene… Do you have any favourite cafes, restaurants or bars in the local area that are a must-do?

Indeed, Cannes has a lot of great restaurants that are a must-do during our guests’ stay on the French Riviera.

We recommend our onsite restaurants Fouquet’s Cannes and Ciro’s Cannes – Plage Barrière Le Majestic.

Fouquet’s Cannes is our high-end brasserie celebrates beautiful French tradition under the watchful eye of Chef Pierre Gagnaire.

We also have Ciro’s Cannes – Plage Barrière Le Majestic, which is inspired by the sea that’s found in classic dishes such as its signature bouillabaisse or delicious raw fish crudo, which take pride of place on the menu.

Ciro’s Cannes has fantastic food and wine on offer

There are also some gourmet restaurants around Cannes we also recommend.

At Table 22, discover lovely Provençal flavours orchestrated by a former student of Alain Ducasse in old town le Suquet.

Le Maschou offers a romantic table with rustic tones which, since 1963, Le Maschou (meaning mas and owl in Provençal) has offered you a generous selection of meats cooked over a wood fire.

Also, Cannes in summertime has to be celebrated on one of the private beaches of La Croisette.

Ciro’s Cannes has a sensational location on the beach

There is Restaurant Mademoiselle Gray and here, the feminine Croisette beach invites you on a culinary journey in a relaxed chic atmosphere. Let yourself be carried away by a gourmet stopover with Lebanese accents.

Also go to La Môme Plage, a must do in Cannes on La Croisette for Sushi lovers or Mediterranean flavors à la carte while enjoying a nice ambiance.

For seafood lovers, head to Miramar Plage. Here, the chef twists his dishes with inspirations from elsewhere, sometimes turning to Latin America, sometimes to the Mediterranean or Asia.

Find cafes, restaurants and right all across Cannes

For Italian Farniente and Dolce Vita, head to Il Grande. With its enchanting, Fellini-esque setting, this restaurant is an ode to the elegant and decadent Italy of the 1960s, where glamour meets la dolce vita.

We also recommend Luigi Restaurant and Piano bar. The heart of Italy beats and resonates every evening against the Lalique glass, to the jazzy rhythm of the musicians and the piano inlaid in the central room.

Also, must do lively places to visit while in Cannes include La Guerite on Sainte Marguerite, island accessible by boat and festive during the season; Baoli restaurant rooftop and club, which combines Mediterranean and Asian flavours and we recommend dine at 10pm for the first seating and keep your table all night long; La Petite Maison by chef Yiannis Kioroglou, known for its pissaladière and truffle scrambled eggs, all the must-haves of this famous address are on the menu; and Medusa, located in the heart of the mythical and legendary Palm Beach Cannes that becomes every evening the temple of entertainment with unique dinner and artistic experiences with its cabaret facing magical Cannes.
