The Calile Hotel and Sealy Australia have joined forces to support local charity Micah Projects in its mission to help those in need access housing, healthcare, safety, justice, and social connection.

Throughout April, May and June, the hotel will donate Au$5 from every night stayed to Micah Projects and will work with Sealy Australia to purchase, manufacture and supply more than 350 beds – twice the number of beds in the hotel.

Hotel guests will also have the option to add a personal donation to their stay.

Highlighting The Calile’s focus on investing in local charities and not-for-profits to drive greater societal change, hotel owner Catherine Malouf said it’s about acknowledging the great work that is happening in the community.

“We are surrounded by good people doing great things. Talented people doing brilliant things,” she said.

“We want to support and empower that, because each one of them makes our community a better place to live and visit.

“It enriches us all when we support each other.”

Over the past 12 months The Calile Hotel charity commitments have raised more than $160,000 for registered charities including 3rd Space, Australasian Dance Collective (ADC), Common Ground Queensland and the Institute of Modern Art (IMA), Brisbane.

“It is incredibly rewarding to know of the direct impact that the combined hotel and guest contributions are having on our local community and charity organisations,” Malouf added.

Sealy Australia’s National Commercial Manager, Mila Todorovic, told HM, “It’s a privilege to work on this project”.

“Sealy is incredibly proud to partner with The Calile in their powerful mission to supply 350 beds to those who need them most, through the amazing work of Micah Projects,” said Todorovic.

“From supporting people experiencing homelessness to those affected by domestic violence, this initiative is a lifeline for so many in our community.

The Calile’s unwavering commitment to giving back – 365 days a year – is truly inspiring, and their continued efforts to create real, lasting change reflect the heart of what community impact should look like.”
