Must have: ECO lightweight towels

by James Wilkinson

The ECO Towel is the first-ever Australian made towel to be made from RPET, a soft and absorbent recycled yarn that uses recycled plastic bottles and fabric cut-offs.

ECO Towels, which are available in over 20 designs, are kind to the environment and your body, reducing waste and the impact on the planet saving close to 20 water bottles out of landfill and our oceans.

Aside from reducing landfill, the production of recycled RPET, has significant environmental advantages. It takes 20,000 litres of water to produce just 1kg of organic cotton. Recycled RPET has a 50% lower carbon footprint than organic cotton.

It has also been found that REPET significantly sheds less micro particles than non recycled yarn, when washed (MISTRA).

In addition, ECO towels are compressed at very high temperature to trap and bond their micro particles together, to help protect our oceans.

They are available from KE Design and independent gift stores for AU$79.
