Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands has begun welcoming guests following its official opening on Monday April 8.

The 273-room hotel, formerly Four Points by Sheraton, is owned by MA Financial Group and operated by TFE Hotels.

TFE Hotels’ Group Chief Operating Officer, Chris Sedgwick; Senior Director of Operations ANZ, Tish Nyar; and Regional General Manager VIC, Stephen Moore, joined Hotel General Manager, Nigel Maxey, for the opening celebrations.

“Last year was a milestone year as our homegrown Vibe Hotels brand completed a lap of the Aussie map with the opening of our design-focused Vibe Hotel Adelaide,” said Sedgwick.

“This year, the brand will continue to go from strength to strength as we welcome Vibe Hotel Melbourne Docklands into the fold, prepare to announce new pipeline hotels, and celebrate our 21st year of operations.”

TFE’s Global Sales Officer, Shahnaz Bakhshay, said the hotel will appeal to leisure, conference and special event guests.

“We’re also excited to add an additional seven meeting rooms – including the Sky Room with its skyline views – to the Melbourne portfolio, along with a private bar and two outdoor terraces,” she said.

“Whilst wellness facilities like the heated rooftop lap pool, 24-hour fitness centre, pool, spa and steam room are perfect for sporting groups and that all-important post-game recovery.”

Vibe Melbourne Docklands is the 12th Vibe hotel in Australia and the second in Melbourne, with sister property, Vibe Hotel Melbourne, launching a rooftop venue this week.

Opening on Friday April 12, Fleet on level 22 is reportedly the tallest rooftop bar on Flinders’ Street.

Melbourne interior designer Paul Kelly – the designer behind Black Star and Crown Casino – was tasked with transforming the hotel’s former penthouse apartments into a chic, 90-pax venue.

Reminiscent of an intimate private suite with a sophisticated fit out and 80s design touches, Fleet features amber and dusty pink tones, custom made furniture and a long bar counter.

The wraparound outdoor terrace is decked out with green and white striped upholstery to add a garden party frisson, while the retractable roof and glass panelling not only caters to all weather conditions, but frames stunning city views to perfection.

The bar stocks more than 70 different rums including a vintage and rare bottle collection, dating back to the 1930s; 50 different gins from international and local producers such as Four Pillars, Bass & Flinders, and Patient Wolf distilleries; fine whisky from around the world; local craft beers; and a selection of wines from the Yarra Valley, Geelong, Mornington Peninsula, and surrounds.
