IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury boutique brand Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants made its Australian debut this week with the opening of Kimpton Margot Sydney on Monday.

Located at 339 Pitt Street, the heritage-listed property pays homage to the 1930s with 172 deco-inspired rooms and close to 600 pieces of art throughout the nine floors.

Kimpton Margot Sydney is likely to appeal to pet owners, with guests permitted to bring their pet, big or small, in line with the brand’s “if it fits in the lift” mantra.

The brand, which is famed for its unique design, quality service and locally-loved restaurants and bars, introduces Luke’s Kitchen as its go-to spot in Sydney for an à la carte breakfast, lunch or dinner.

With Luke Mangan at the helm, the restaurant offers a fusion of Asian, European and modern Australian cuisines.

Additionally, the hotel offers an indulgent wine experience, Cellar By Luke, which invites guests to dine in a space surrounded by walls of Australian and International wines.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s 1930’s-style The Wilmot Bar, is decked out with plush velvet lounges and offers an extensive cocktail menu.

IHG has a busy year in store for the Kimpton brand, with seven properties set to open in 2022. Kimpton Kitalay Samui, the first Kimpton resort in South-East Asia, opened in January, with island resorts Kimpton Aysla Mallorca and Kimpton Naranta Bali on the way, as well as Kimpton properties in Suzhou, Greater China, Midtown Atlanta in Georgia, and Kimpton Roatan in the Caribbean.
