Holiday Inn Express makes Auckland debut in the heart of the city

Pro-invest Hotels and IHG Hotels and Resorts have introduced New Zealand’s first dual branded hotel development with the opening of Holiday Inn Express in Auckland last week alongside the recently opened voco Auckland City Centre.

The 294-room Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre offers affordable accommodation with a contemporary design. Each of the guest rooms feature floor to ceiling windows and dedicated work stations.

“Much thought has been put into every detail of this hotel and we are very proud to have the Holiday Inn Express brand sitting alongside voco Hotel in New Zealand’s first dual branded hotel development,” said Pro-invest Hotels Chief Operating Officer, Shantha de Silva.

It has been a year of ‘firsts’ for Pro-invest Hotels, according to de Silva.

“The opening of this hotel tower marks a major milestone for our business, he said.

“We were the first to bring the voco brand to New Zealand and the first to bring Holiday Inn Express to the country with our Queenstown property.

“Now, with quarantine free travel returning to New Zealand we look forward to welcoming travellers to Auckland and can’t wait for our guests to experience these new properties.”

Guests can avail of food and beverage offerings at the neighbouring voco Auckland City Centre including Mozzarella & Co. and Bar Albert, a rooftop bar on Level 38 that will open in August.

Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre uses energy-efficient equipment and systems throughout and has opted not to include any single-use plastics. Pro-invest says it’s on track to achieve Green Engage Certification.
