Fiji Airways wins major APEX Awards for food and cabin service

Fiji Airways has had two prestigious award wins at the 2026 APEX Best in Airline Awards for Best Cabin Service and Best Food and Beverage in the South Pacific.

This recognition follows Fiji Airways’ recent achievement of being named an APEX World Class Airline for 2026, placing it among the top 10 airlines globally.

It is the smallest airline by fleet size ever to receive this distinction, and the only carrier in Oceania to be recognised.

Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO, Paul Scurrah, said the accolade positions Fiji Airways among an elite group of global airlines celebrated worldwide for excellence in safety, sustainability, well-being, and service.

“Receiving these awards is a proud moment for everyone at Fiji Airways. The awards reinforce our position as a premium carrier in the region,” he said.

“Our continued investment in service quality, dining innovation, and training ensures that the warmth of Fiji shines through in every aspect of the journey. We are proud of this achievement, and we are just getting started.”

The latest APEX honours come as Fiji Airways continues to redefine its inflight experience through culinary innovation.

The airline recently introduced a Pacific Rim menu and On-Demand Dining for Business Class guests – initiatives that showcase its commitment to world-class dining and likely contributed to its recognition for food and service excellence.

Inspired by the flavours of the Pacific Rim from across the Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and North America, the new menu celebrates local Fijian ingredients.

Business Class guests can Dine on Demand, with dishes freshly plated onboard and thoughtful touches such as Artisanal Fijian chocolate and a handcrafted Vau flower. Cabin crew have undergone culinary and wine service training to deliver a refined, personalised experience.

In Economy Class guests now enjoy an enhanced menu featuring new meal options, mocktails, cocktails, hot chocolate, and a wider range of snacks and beverages throughout the flight.

“Our cabin crew and culinary teams work tirelessly to deliver a uniquely Fijian experience at 35,000 feet – one that blends warm island hospitality, exceptional service, and authentic flavours,” said Fiji Airways Chief Customer Officer Akuila Batiweti.

“To be recognised by our guests themselves makes this achievement truly meaningful.”

The APEX Best in Airline Awards celebrate passenger experience excellence across more than 600 airlines globally, recognising standout achievements in seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and WiFi.
