Holiday Inn Sydney Airport has been rebranded to a Crowne Plaza, marking the first airport hotel under the brand in Australia.

The 252-room Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport is being redesigned to deliver a premium experience for business and leisure travellers alike.

The property revamp by Stack Studio will span guest rooms, dining venues, bars, public spaces, conference and meeting rooms.

The first phase – a $6 million upgrade of public spaces is currently underway – with the lobby now complete.

“Whether it’s an annual family holiday or business trip, we know guests are seeking to make travel as seamless as possible – right from the get-go,” said Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport General Manager, David Ross.

“We are proud to be welcoming guests to a new era of airport accommodation, where it’s all about making their stay part of the journey.”

Independent management company Trilogy Hotels has been enlisted to operate the property.

“We proudly welcome Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport at Australia’s largest international gateway,” said hotel owner and director, Wade Huang.

“With global travel demand surging, we’ve partnered with Trilogy Hotels to operate the property, leveraging their expertise to help realise our vision, alongside the elevated appeal of the Crowne Plaza brand through IHG Resorts and Hotels.

“As the airport market rebounds, we’re excited to share the full scope of the hotel’s reimagination in the new year.”

The hotel’s new welcome area is on display, featuring modern reception pods, a striking feature wall, and contemporary pendant lighting, while restaurants and bars will unveil a new look and feel, along with menu updates in due course.

The latest investment follows a transformative $15 million room refurbishment in 2022.

“Our vision for the Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport is to create a somewhere that appeals not just to hotel guests, but also to the local community here in Sydney,” Ross said.

“The refresh to our food and beverage venues has been designed to ensure both our guests and locals feel welcomed and inspired every time they visit, now with something a little more sophisticated.”
