LiveStay has commenced construction of its second Punthill property in Oakleigh, adding to the group’s existing Melbourne portfolio.

Works on Punthill Oakleigh Central, a new 55-key apartment hotel at 45–49 Portman Street, have begun, with demolition already underway on the site, inching closer to its 2028 completion.

The new Punthill property will offer 55 apartment-style rooms, comprising 38 studios, 14 one-bedroom apartments and three two-bedroom apartments, providing flexible accommodation for both short and extended stays. Interconnected apartments and DDA-accessible rooms will also be available.

On-site facilities will include a reception and lobby, conference room, gym, guest pantry, guest laundry, Wi-Fi, and car parking. The property is in proximity to the Monash National Employment and Innovation Cluster (MNEIC), Monash University, Monash Medical Centre and the Victorian Heart Hospital.

“Punthill has a long history of providing flexible, apartment-style accommodation in locations where there is strong demand from corporate and extended-stay guests. Oakleigh is an excellent fit for the brand, given its position within Melbourne’s south-east and its proximity to some of the city’s most significant employment, education, healthcare and research precincts,” LiveStay CEO, Zed Sanjana said.

“The commencement of Punthill Oakleigh Central is particularly exciting for us as it will be our second Punthill property in Oakleigh. That is a strong endorsement of the location and our confidence in the demand for high-quality, flexible accommodation in this part of Melbourne.”

Punthill Oakleigh Central is expected to cater to both business and leisure guests, with a particular focus on corporate, project and extended-stay demand.

The property will provide accommodation for professionals working across Oakleigh, Clayton, Chadstone and Melbourne’s broader south-east.
