Brady Hotel Elizabeth Street has officially opened its doors, featuring 211 keys and a glass-domed sky lobby.

The latest hotel marks the sixth Brady-branded property in the city, as the privately owned group’s portfolio now tops 1,000 rooms in Melbourne’s CBD.

Brady Hotel Elizabeth Street features a 40-metre mural at its laneway entrance by esteemed Melbourne artist Kitt Bennett, as well as a glass-domed sky lobby on Level 8, with city and skyline rooms above giving guests views across Melbourne and 180-degree panoramas from the hotel’s semicircular City View rooms.

The official opening on Wednesday 7 October brought together Brady Group Managing Director Tony Brady and Lord Mayor of Melbourne Nick Reece, alongside Brady Group General Manager – Hotels and Hospitality Robert Moore, artist Kitt Bennett, industry guests and local partners.

“It’s a pleasure to welcome the sixth brand-new Brady Hotel to Melbourne – giving us our very own Brady bunch!” Lord Mayor of Melbourne Nick Reece said.

“The whole world has cottoned on to Melbourne’s magic, with our shopping, culture and events leading to a boom in interstate and international visitors. All these visitors need somewhere to stay – and Brady Hotels continues to deliver with this fantastic new addition to our thriving hotel sector.”

Brady’s roots in Melbourne extend to include development of more than 2,900 apartments across the CBD, along with residential projects for other clients.

“Opening our sixth Brady hotel and taking our Melbourne portfolio beyond 1,000 rooms is a proud milestone for our family and everyone at Brady. Melbourne is where our business started, where we’ve continued to invest and where we’ve built our team,” Brady Group Managing Director Tony Brady said.

“Elizabeth Street is another chapter in that story – a building we acquired, designed, developed and constructed, and which our own hotel team now has the privilege of operating.”

“We remain enormously confident in Melbourne and the future of its visitor economy, and we look forward to continuing to invest in the city for many years to come.”

GM Moore said the hotel was “distinctly Melbourne in character”, offering a unique point of difference while giving guests the fundamentals of a good hotel stay.

Every room features an opening window, natural light and a walk-in shower, while the hotel also features a cardio gym, self-serve laundry and 24-hour reception.

“This is a hotel built around what travellers actually use: a good bed, a clean and contemporary room, fast Wi-Fi, fresh air, space to work and a team who knows the city,” Moore said.

“We are not interested in scripted hospitality or pushing things guests do not need. Our team can point you towards the right coffee, restaurant, tram or quiet corner, then make sure the essentials work when you come back.”
