The art’otel brand has been gaining global acclaim in recent years for offering stylish, designer stays in thriving neighbourhoods globally and one of our favourite properties is the art’otel London Battersea Power Station.

The property is located Electric Boulevard in Nine Elms in the heart London’s vibrant Battersea neighbourhood and thanks to one-of-a-kind interiors carefully curated by resident artist, Jaime Hayon, it’s become popular for culture lovers, avid shoppers, culinary enthusiasts and urban explorers and to find out more about the property, James Wilkinson sat down with art’otel London Battersea Power Station General Manager, Jennifer McCabe.

Jennifer, the art’otel London Battersea Power Station is popular on so many levels, from the location to the artworks, hospitality, overall design, rooms and food and beverage on offer. Tell us about your favourite things of the property.

What I love most about art’otel London Battersea Power Station is how it seamlessly brings together art, architecture, and atmosphere. The hotel isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience that sparks inspiration from the moment you arrive. Every corner has been thoughtfully designed to tell a story, with the striking interiors curated by our Signature Artist, Jaime Hayon, setting the tone for creativity and connection.

Then there’s our rooftop which has to be one of the most photographed locations in London, the ever-popular JOIA Restaurant and our cocktail bar Pérola both with breathtaking views of the iconic Power Station chimneys and the London skyline. We have an unforgettable spot that captures the essence of modern Battersea. And, of course, what truly makes this place special is our team; their passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for our guests shines through in everything we do.

Tell us about the stylish rooms and suites on offer.

Our rooms and suites are a true reflection of art’otel’s creative spirit, vibrant, playful, and beautifully designed. Jaime Hayon’s signature touch is evident throughout, from the bold colour palettes and sculptural furniture to the curated art pieces that give each room its own personality.

We’ve created spaces that balance artistry with comfort: plush beds, luxurious bathrooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame stunning city views. Our suites take it to another level, perfect for guests who want more space to relax or entertain, all while surrounded by inspiring design. With amenities such as vinyl record players and Dyson amenities, guests can even have a Peloton in their room or have the dining table in the Masterpiece Suite set up for a private dinner from the kitchens of JOIA.

Tell us about the fantastic food and beverage on offer, which is some of the best in Battersea.

We’re incredibly proud of our food and beverage offerings; including the moreish dishes from the all-day dining TOZI Grand Café with its gourmet pizza and Cicchetti, it’s sister café TOZI Counter with delicious take-away offerings, to JOIA, our flagship restaurant and rooftop bar by the renowned Portuguese chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, celebrates vibrant Iberian flavours with a contemporary twist. It’s all about honest, bold, and beautifully presented dishes that make the most of seasonal ingredients.

The restaurant and bar have become destinations in their own right, drawing locals and visitors alike for the lively atmosphere, unforgettable food and drink, and those spectacular views. Pérola, our stunning cocktail bar located on the 14th floor is the place to be seen, with double height ceilings and a roster of DJ’s to curate the perfect experience.

Whether it’s a relaxed breakfast, afternoon tea, cocktails, a fine dining experience or a special event, there’s always something to savour.

What’s your x-factor at the art’otel London Battersea Power Station?

Our X-factor is the unique fusion of art, design, and hospitality, you truly can’t find it anywhere else in London. We’re a living gallery that constantly evolves, inspires, and surprises.

Every stay feels like a creative journey, underpinned by a deep sense of warmth and genuine hospitality. Guests leave feeling not just rested but enriched and that’s something we’re very proud of. And let’s not forget that heated rooftop infinity pool, undeniably a bucket list location.

How important is loyalty, particularly given the global popularity of Radisson Rewards?

Loyalty is incredibly important to us. The Radisson Rewards programme allows us to connect with our guests on a more personal level, wherever they are in the world. It’s about recognising and rewarding our guests for their continued trust whether they’re visiting us in London or staying at one of our sister properties across the globe.

At art’otel London Battersea Power Station, we also see loyalty as more than just points, it’s about creating meaningful connections and ensuring that every guest feels valued and understood every time they return.

Favourite things to do in the local area?

The Battersea Power Station neighbourhood has become one of London’s most exciting destinations, and there’s so much to explore right on our doorstep. I love taking a stroll along the Thames Riverwalk, browsing the boutiques in the Power Station’s new shopping district, and venturing into Battersea Park with all its family friendly facilities from tree-walking experiences with GoApe, to the boating lake. Did you know Battersea Park has its very own zoo?

The Lift 109 experience inside the Power Station’s north-west chimney is a must-do for anyone visiting, and when you’re ready to unwind, there’s nothing quite like returning to art’otel London Battersea Power Station for a sunset drink on our rooftop.
