The move comes after the experience-led hospitality brand opened Lyf Collingwood Melbourne in 2022, and Lyf Bondi Junction Sydney in April this year, in a bid to meet “rising demand for flexible accommodation for digital nomads and the like”.
According to the group, Lyf Bondi Junction has seen a rapid uptake and is looking to close above 85% occupancy this year.

“This sustained demand underpins the decision to expand the brand’s footprint in Melbourne and across Australasia,” the group stated.
“Melbourne has long been a cultural and creative capital, and we saw an opportunity to create a stay experience that truly reflects the city’s spirit,” The Ascott Limited, Australasia Managing Director, David Mansfield said.

The latest 90-room property aims to “elevate authentic stay experiences by infusing local culture, design, and neighbourhood partnerships into its brand”.
Occupying the former Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) it has since undergone a contemporary transformation to preserve the structure’s heritage while introducing “playful interiors and creative social spaces that reflect Lyf’s energetic design philosophy,” the group stated.

Featuring social spaces and dynamic activations and programmes, the Lyf Elizabeth Melbourne will also host an all-day dining venue, Bonnibel restaurant, as well as a range of conference and event spaces to cater for up to 250 guests.
