Exclusive: inside the luxurious Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas

by James Wilkinson

On the East Cape of Baja, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is one of the leading hotels in not just Mexico, but the entire Americas thanks to its incredible design, stylish rooms and suites and world-class restaurants and amenities. To find out what makes the property so unique, James Wilkinson spoke to Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas General Manager, Sandra Oliva.

Sandra, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is popular on so many levels, from the location to the golf course, stunning design, rooms, and food and beverage on offer. Tell us about your favourite things about the property.

What I love most about our Resort is that it truly feels like a hidden paradise – a secret haven cradled within Cabo’s vibrant universe, yet worlds away from the bustling crowds.

It’s a place where you can fully disconnect yet still be part of something extraordinary.

From the largest swimmable beach in Los Cabos to thirteen thoughtfully curated dining experiences, a private marina, a championship golf course, and a multi-award-winning spa, every detail invites you to savour the moment.

It is a truly holistic escape that is both deeply calming and yet incredibly alive.

Tell us about the stylish rooms and suites on offer.

Accommodations here are truly special because elemental luxury is woven throughout, keeping the spaces grounded and allowing Baja’s stunning landscape to take center stage.

Our rooms, suites, and residences are thoughtfully designed to reflect the harmony of desert meeting sea.

Natural light floods in through expansive windows that open out to private terraces invite you to fully soak in the breathtaking surroundings.

Each space balances refined comfort with subtle elegance, using warm, natural materials and calming tones to create a peaceful sanctuary.

These rooms feel like your personal refuge – intimate yet beautifully connected to the world outside.

Tell us about the fantastic food and beverage on offer, which is some of the best in Mexico.

Our Resort is a culinary destination in its own right, where vibrant flavors come alive through incredibly fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

We offer 13 very different dining and drinking experiences—whether it’s a casual lunch at our Baja-style brasserie, Casa de Brasa, or an intimate nine-course tasting dinner at Zest, the smallest restaurant in Los Cabos, which features just one table and one seating per night in our Chef’s private garden.

Alongside these incredible meals, our cocktail program highlights local flavors with creative twists, and our wine list proudly showcases Mexican wines – some of the oldest vineyards in the Americas – offering guests a chance to explore the rich heritage and unique terroir of the region.

It’s this combination that makes every dining experience here feel personal, vibrant, and deeply connected to place.

What’s your X-factor at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas?

Our X-factor really comes down to the people. It’s the genuine care and attention our team brings to every moment, the small touches that make a big difference.

Beyond the beautiful surroundings and luxurious amenities, it’s the warmth and connection we create with each guest that truly sets us apart.

We want everyone who stays with us to feel seen, valued, and at home, whether it’s through thoughtful service or anticipating needs before they’re spoken.

That kind of heartfelt hospitality is what makes the experience here unforgettable.

Sandra, what are some of your favourite things to do in the local area?

One of my favourite things to do nearby is hiking to the Sol de Mayo waterfall. The trail takes you through landscapes that become more stunning and almost otherworldly the further you go.

It’s a chance to really connect with the raw beauty of Baja — quiet, wild, and inspiring. Beyond that, I love how close we are to both the desert and the sea, so whether it’s a morning paddle on the calm waters or an afternoon hiking the mountains, there’s always something special just around the corner.
