The group closes the year on a high in the Pacific, following major debuts in 2025 including the arrival of its Ennismore lifestyle brand into the region, which includes the first Mondrian in Australia, Hyde in Melbourne, 25hours in Sydney and Jo&Joe in Auckland. The group also opened its first design-driven hotel brand Tribe in New Zealand.
The seven newest additions to its complete its line-up in 2025 include Mercure Sydney St Leonards, with refurbishments almost complete, Ibis Styles Melbourne Southbank, Saint Kilda Beach Hotel, Mantra Mount Gambier, BreakFree North Adelaide and Mantra Meridien Adelaide, a new dual-branded property and the Mantra Hobart Airport, the only hotel within the international airport precinct.
“We’ve launched an array of new world-renowned brands into the region, bolstered our development pipeline, and championed hospitality’s role in energising cities, regional centres, and local communities,” Accor Chief Operating Officer Pacific, Adrian Williams said.
Further bolstering its growth, Accor has earmarked an array of openings in 2026 including a new contemporary hotel in West Melbourne, the Mercure Melbourne La Trobe Street, a new Ennismore-branded hotel, Hyde Perth, and a $100 million transformation for Hamilton’s tallest tower to become a 191-room Pullman Hamilton in New Zealand.
Hotel performance in Australia has continued to grow year-on-year, particularly for key cities including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, fuelled by a rise in leisure and MICE groups, according to Accor. Inbound tourism grew 9 per cent driven by growth from China, the United Kingdom and Singapore.
Meanwhile, the group reported its booking pace across Australia averaged 16 per cent higher year-on-year since the start of 2025, while STR market demand is up 3.6 per cent.
