Currently operating every Monday, the new flights will also operate on Fridays, giving customers greater travel flexibility for business, leisure, and onward international connections.
The additional service will be operated by the airline’s ATR 72 aircraft, offering a comfortable and efficient connection between the two Pacific nations.
With the new Friday service, Fiji Airways will operate a total of five flights per week to Funafuti.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Andre Viljoen, said the expansion reflects the airline’s continued commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and its role as a bridge for the Pacific.
“Our expanded schedule to Funafuti not only provides more travel options for our customers but also supports stronger links between Fiji and Tuvalu,” he said.
“This new frequency makes it easier for families, businesses, and visitors to stay connected and strengthens Fiji’s role as the Pacific’s aviation hub.”
Viljoen said the enhanced service is also expected to benefit Tuvalu’s economy and communities, improving access to healthcare, education, and trade opportunities, while making it easier for Tuvaluans to connect to Fiji Airways’ extensive international network.
