The stories of leading artists, architects, athletes, writers, chefs and designers who have contributed to The Langham’s legacy will be told in the “Your Story. Our Legacy” campaign, which will present the flagship hotel brand to audiences worldwide.
“For over a century and a half, The Langham has opened its doors to changemakers and tastemakers who have defined their eras and enriched the cultural landscape,” said Langham Hospitality Group Chief Executive Officer, Bob van den Oord.
“Their stories form the backbone of the brand’s legacy, which underpins its stature as an enduring symbol of luxury hospitality.
“This campaign is not just a tribute to those narratives, but a prelude to the milestone celebrations of The Langham’s 160th anniversary happening later this year. It marks the beginning of a celebration to revere, the past and define the future of our namesake.”
The Langham, London – the brand’s founding hotel – played host to many key historical figures over the years, from its opening by the then-Prince of Wales in 1865 to Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill, George Orwell, Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain and Napoleon the Third.
The opening phase of the activation will feature Hong Kong fencer and two-time gold medallist Cheung Ka-long, and mainland Chinese swimmer and individual medley champion Wang Shun, while the highly acclaimed photographer, Douglas Friedman; the renowned architect and grandson of Mies van der Rohe, Dirk Lohan; and the visionary creative directorial duo Laura Kim and Fernando J. Garcia, among the Langham Luminaries to follow.
