Punthill South Yarra Grand, operated by Veriu Group, has unveiled its first major refurbishment since opening in 2009.
The Yarra Street hotel has been under works for over two months, with the cost amounting to almost AU$1.4 million.
Common areas including the lobby and reception area have been upgraded with stylish new furniture and artwork, which has also been added to the hallways.
New signage has been introduced as well as fresh paint and carpet throughout.
Each apartment has been enhanced with blackout and sheer curtains, new basins in all bathrooms, new beds and Manchester, new indoor and outdoor furniture, new refrigerators, 50-inch televisions, new artwork and improved WIFI accessibility and fast, high-quality internet.
All apartments offer views of Melbourne’s City Skyline, as well as fully equipped kitchens, desks and in-room laundry facilities.
“We acquired the Punthill brand in 2018. The South Yarra property was one of the original hotels in the Punthill portfolio, opened in 2009 – and remains one of our most popular. But in a highly competitive market, it’s important to ensure we continue to enhance our offering and enhance its appeal to increasingly discerning travellers,” said Veriu Group Chief Executive Officer, Zed Sanjana.
“To this end, the key goal of the refurbishment was to capitalise on the property’s prime position, by refreshing the product and elevating the guest experience, and we’ve sought to do this by modernising the hotel’s aesthetic, incorporating contemporary design elements while maintaining the signature sense of warmth and comfort synonymous with the Punthill brand.”
This refurbishment marks the beginning of a program of targeted property upgrades across the Punthill portfolio over the next two years, including Essendon, Williamstown and Little Bourke in Melbourne’s CBD.
