Wayfarer TV: the best of New York City as Qantas moves to daily flights from Sydney and Auckland

by James Wilkinson

Qantas has revealed it will be increasing its Sydney to New York via Auckland flights from five per week to daily from June 2026 until October 2026.

This will mark the first time the airline will have daily services on its Sydney-Auckland-New York route since its launch in June 2023 on the back of demand for the Big Apple.

It is also the first daily flights to New York operated by Qantas since pre-COVID when the airline had daily Sydney-Los Angeles-New York services with the Boeing 747-400ER and later the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

“We’re thrilled to be increasing our Sydney to New York flights via Auckland to daily from June to October next year,” said Qantas CEO International, Cam Wallace.

“These flights have been very popular with our customers and we’re looking forward to continuing the service alongside our future nonstop options between Sydney and New York with Project Sunrise.”
