Wayfarer TV: Qatar Airways launches trans-Tasman sale from Adelaide

by James Wilkinson

Qatar Airways has launched a new sale encouraging Trans-Tasman travel to celebrate the expansion of its Adelaide to Auckland route.

Qatar Airways is now operating five-weekly flights between Adelaide and Auckland and to encourage travel on the route is offering return fares starting from AUD$699.

The deal is available now until 10 August 2022 for travel from now to 30 September 2022.

The airline is also offering guaranteed flexibility on travel completed by 30 September 2022, including unlimited date changes and ticket refunds, so travellers can plan ahead knowing they are covered.

Qatar Airways’ new Adelaide to Auckland route was launched in April, operated by a B777-300ER, as an extension of the existing service between Doha and Adelaide.

Qatar Airways Vice President of Sales for Southeast Asia, Southwest Pacific & Indian Subcontinent, Jared Lee said: “The Australia and New Zealand region continues to be an area of strong growth for Qatar Airways, and the Adelaide to Auckland service will support the continuing growth of travel between the cities.

“Not only do we continue to rebuild our network after the pandemic, but we are actively expanding it as travel restrictions ease. This is the latest in a series of enhancements to our Australian network this year, and we will no doubt continue to make upgrades as we expand our services further.”

Passengers on the Adelaide to Auckland route can also experience Qatar Airways’ ground-breaking Business Class experience, Qsuite, which has been recognised as the ‘World’s Best Business Class’, ‘World’s Best Business Class Onboard Catering’ and ‘Best Business Class Seat’ by the 2021 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

A multiple award-winning airline, Qatar Airways was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ in the latest World Airline Awards, managed by the international air transport rating organisation Skytrax.

The airline’s hub, Hamad International Airport, was recently recognised as the ‘Best Airport in the World 2021’, ranking at number one in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2021.

In addition to this, Qatar Airways has become the first global airline in the world to achieve the prestigious 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by Skytrax.

This follows the success of Hamad International Airport (HIA) as the first airport in the Middle East and Asia to be awarded a Skytrax 5-Star COVID-19 Airport Safety Rating.
