Wayfarer TV: British Airways’ Singapore Lounge re-opens as global travel ramps-up

British Airways’ flagship lounge at Singapore’s Changi Airport has re-opened to travellers as travel globally continues to ramp-up.

According to British Airways’ Head of Sales for Asia Pacific, Noella Ferns, the reopening of the lounge marks an important milestone for the airline allowing customers to dine, help themselves to our extensive selection of beverages or shower before their flight.

She said the lounge is available for customers travelling in First, Club World, British Airways Executive Gold and Silver members and eligible Oneworld card holders, ahead of their flight.

Located within the lounge is the airline’s bespoke area called ‘The Bar’ and tt embodies the finest in British design, style and art, according to Ferns.

“A tasteful and secluded area exclusive to First customers, The Bar features the digital panoramic views of the Singapore skyline reflecting the time of day, to enable customers to connect to the time of day outside when travelling through time zones,” she said.

The main lounge offers an upgraded space to work, relax or dine and what’s more, the lounge is decorated with artwork from established Singaporean and British artists, including Simon Wee and Dr Brendan Neiland.

“As entry restrictions continue to ease in Singapore and the UK we know that greater numbers of customers are now expected to travel,” Ferns said. “Hence, we feel it is the right time to open our flagship lounge in Singapore.

“We want to ensure that our customers have the best experience while travelling with British Airways both on ground and in the air.

“Our teams continue to innovate to provide an enhanced flying experience to all travellers. I do hope that they will enjoy the comfort of relaxing in our lounge before they travel,” she said.

Ferns said British Airways’ customers will be able to use the airline’s innovative digital app ‘Your Menu’ to order food directly from their mobile device to their seat after scanning a QR code.

The app will be available throughout the lounge and allows customers to choose from a wide range of complimentary food and drinks.

There is also a buffet service for customers who want a lighter option and are looking to grab a quick bite before their flight.

British Airways’ Singapore lounge, which first opened on September 29, 2015, is located at Terminal 1 in Changi Airport and it can host up to 226 guests.
