American Airlines has inaugurated flights to Brisbane in Queensland, with all-new flights taking off from Dallas Fort Worth this week.

The introduction of American’s second route to Australia ensures even greater adventure opportunities for those traveling from Down Under, according to American’s Vice President International Operations, José Freig.

He said Dallas Fort Worth serves as an important gateway to explore other parts of the United States, Canada, Europe and Latin America.

“The excitement we saw when we first announced our new Brisbane flight back at the start of the year was overwhelming, so to have finally landed in the Sunshine State from Dallas-Fort Worth is a momentous occasion for American,” he said.

“With this new route, our customers in Brisbane will have access to our largest hub, from where they can connect to explore unexplored and much-loved destinations around the world.”

American’s Vice President of Regulatory and International Government Affairs, Molly Wilkinson, added: “We are grateful to the Queensland Government for their collaboration to help make this new route a reality.

“Our flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and Brisbane are a direct result of the shared commitment between the Queensland Government and American to bolster international tourism by providing visitors access to beautiful Brisbane and its rich culture of arts and fine dining while we continue to strengthen ties between Australia and the U.S.”
