Wayfarer travel TV show: Series 02 Episode 15, the best of Austin, Texas

In Episode 15 of Series 02 of Wayfarer, award-winning host James Gregory Wilkinson is in Austin, Texas and he looks at some of the best things to see and do in the capital of the Lone Star State.

Austin is well known across the world for its live music scene, its epic events and bars and restaurants. Here, you’ll find some of America’s culinary delights from seafood to barbecue, alongside amazing museums, shops, hotels and plenty of bars playing everything from country to rock and roll.

In Episode 15, Wilkinson heads to the South Congress Hotel – one of the city’s best establishments thanks to its location in the heart of a thriving hood, custom designed furniture-laden rooms and fantastic bars and restaurants – and talks accommodation with owner Bart Knaggs.

He then then visits legendary Texas meat joint La Barbecue to talk brisket and much more with owners LeAnn Mueller – who hails from food royalty in this state; she’s the granddaughter of the founder of the famous Louie Mueller Barbecue – and her partner Alison Clem, known as one of the finest culinary masters in Austin.

Additionally, a new marble-topped bar unit offers customers in business class a place to grab a mid-flight drink or snack.
