Video: Traeger’s Ironwood 885 takes outdoor cooking to a new level

Salt Lake City’s Traeger Grills has been revolutionising BBQ grilling and outdoor cooking for over 30 years thanks to its all-encompassing cooking solution.

Traeger pellet grills use 100% all-natural hardwood fuel to infuse food with flavourful smoke, making food taste delicious and most of all, heaps of fun.

As the inventor of the original and world’s top selling wood-fired grill, Traeger utilises wood-fired convection power to provide 6-in-1 versatility – grill, smoke, bake, roast, braise and BBQ meals and create perfection every time.

One of the company’s latest releases, the Traeger Ironwood 885 (AU$2,899), might just be one of the best the grilling masters have ever put on sale.

The Traeger Ironwood 885 features 885 inches of grilling space, which is enough to cook 10 chickens, 7 rib racks or 9 pork butts at once.

It’s a member, alongside the Ironwood 650, of a new series that has an innovative pill-shaped barrel design, and features Traeger’s DownDraft Exhaust and TRU Convection Systems, which helps food cook to wood-fired perfection in the shortest amount of time.

The Ironwood Series also offers Super Smoke Mode, allowing users to increase the smoke and boost the flavour with the push of a button.

Both the Traeger 650 and 855 come equipped with the new Ironwood D2 Controller and has a temperature range of 65C to 260C which can be set in five-degree increments.

In addition, the grill features the D2 Direct Drive and WiFIRE technology and has a Keep Warm mode to ensure finished dishes don’t overcook or get cold before eating.

Traeger’s all-new D2 Direct Drive drivetrain uses an all-new variable speed fan and auger, providing optimal blue smoke production across a much wider temperature range for the finest hardwood flavour.

It also features Turbotemp technology, allowing the grills to get hotter faster so users can get grilling quicker and enjoy more precise cooking temps.

The D2 drivetrain is all powered by an industry-first brushless motor, delivering years of reliable performance.

For those that don’t know about the WiFIRE technology, it is quite simply epic. WiFIRE lets you monitor your cooking, adjust the grill temperature and access over 1,600 recipes through the Traeger App or select smart home devices.

Whether you are at work, the supermarket or at the footy with mates, you can do everything from change temperatures, to set timers and monitor food temps right from your fingertips.

Also impressive is Traeger’s GrillGuide, where you can master more foods by downloading hundreds of recipes directly to the grill, enjoying step-by-step guidance through the entire cook cycle.

Previously only available in the Timberline, all grills in the new series are now WiFIRE-enabled.
