In a travel boost ahead of the upcoming Christmas season, LATAM Airlines has increased services from Sydney via Auckland to Santiago, Chile to a daily operation from December 6, 2022.

LATAM, the only airline operating daily flights between Australia/New Zealand and South America, recommenced flights from Sydney in March this year with three weekly services after a two-year hiatus and since restarting flights, the carrier has experienced significant demand, according to the carrier’s Country Manager for Oceania, Chris Ellis.

He said the carrier has been working closely with Sydney Airport to increase the number of services throughout the year.

“We are excited to finally be operating daily services to Santiago, the gateway to LATAM’s network of more than 120 destinations in Latin America and 144 destinations around the world,” Ellis said.

“Through working closely with the trade and key strategic partners, we have been able to achieve this milestone.

“We know that there is huge interest in travelling to South America and we are happy to open the opportunity for more and more travellers to experience the wonders this part of the world has to offer.

“From adventure to luxury travel, cruising to trains, Latin America with all of its culture, food, wine and beautiful scenery has something for everyone,” he said.

LATAM operates a Boeing 787-9 aircraft on the route, which feature spacious seats in Business Class and premium food and wine.
