Top tipple: Glen Moray’s 18 Year Old Single Malt

by James Wilkinson

It has been more than 120 years since Glen Moray started being crafted in the heart of Speyside and their rich heritage continues to inspire their single malt Scotch whisky today.

One of the brand’s top drops is the Glen Moray 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, which has been proving popular in Australia, thanks to being stocked at leading chain Dan Murphy’s.

The pride and joy of their ‘Heritage’ collection, Glen Moray’s 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky possesses a perfect structure and balance of soft, warm flavour.

By ageing entirely in American oak first-fill casks that have not been used for single malt previously, the spirit is enhanced with the wood’s maximum flavours of vanilla, oak and toffee.

On the nose, expect toasted oak with deep notes of treacle toffee and caramelised autumn fruits, while on the palate, it is about baked spiced apple and vanilla smoked raisins. It is rich, smooth and delicious. When it comes to the finish, the sweetness and spice fade naturally leaving a light cloud of smoke and toasted oak.

Glen Moray’s 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is available to purchase for AU$125.99 from Dan Murphy’s.
