Glenfiddich Brand Ambassador Ross Blainey says Grand Cru is an exclusive whisky matured for 23 years and elegantly finished in rare French cuvée oak casks.
“This expression fuses Scotland and France’s finest flavours creating a true taste of luxury to be enjoyed with others,” he says.
“Daring and unexpected, Grand Cru encapsulates Glenfiddich’s spirit of luxury and craftsmanship while surpassing the very notion of Single Malt as it sets out to redefine moments of celebration through a new and extraordinary drinking experience.
“Created for the non-conformists, Grand Cru has been uniquely crafted with a surprising delight at every sip for those tearing up the rule book and wanting to celebrate significant life moments in a whole new way.
“The remarkably rich whisky, already intense in flavour thanks to long maturation in American and European oak cask, is finely finessed with influences from French cuvée casks through the art of experimentation.
“Every drop of Grand Cru is the result of up to six months of marrying time, adding new layers of luxury with a myriad of aromas from apple blossom to candied lemon and freshly baked bread.
“On the palate, rich vanilla, sweet brioche, sandalwood, pear sorbet and white grape build a beautiful harmony of flavours, enhanced by a long, opulent finish for an unforgettable experience to be shared and remembered,” he says.
Australia is one of the key markets for Glenfiddich and there is no surprise the release has proven incredibly popular.
“Glenfiddich is renowned worldwide for its mastery and innovation, so we’re excited to bring that to Australia once more with Grand Cru,” Blainey says. “In true Glenfiddich style, we’ve continued to experiment and push the boundaries for whisky to create exciting new flavours.
“We experimented to find the optimal maturation and finishing times and hand-selected the right balance of 23-year-old Glenfiddich casks out of our unique collection of old age malts.
“Marrying the best of both worlds, the final liquid is exquisite and a special tribute to each cuvée cask the malts were finished in.”
He says the sleek, black glass bottle, gold Grand Cru print and evocative golden closure are presented in an opulent black box featuring a sparkling golden firework design created to emanate the spirit of celebration and the authentic taste of luxury contained within.
The Glenfiddich Grand Cru is available now in luxury whisky retail outlets and premium establishments for AU$395.
