Ramada by Wyndham Marcoola Beach commences $2 million refurbishment
The property dates back to the 1960s, when the original tower was built, and has welcomed a host of VIP guests throughout the decades – the most high profile being the Duke of Bedford and Lady Fairfax, who visited in 1971.
In the 80s, the hotel played host to big music acts, including Cold Chisel, Skyhooks, Midnight Oil, Hunters and Collectors, Hoodoo Gurus, Mental as Anything, The Little River Band, Mondo Rock, The Angels and Jimmy and the Boys.
The latest refurbishment intends to celebrate contemporary design while paying homage to the property’s prominence in its early days.

“Club Wyndham South Pacific commits to updating its apartments under a multi-year cycle and members are excited about seeing their club apartments refreshed at this popular location.
“In line with our sustainability commitments, we are pleased to offer our quality used furniture to worthwhile local cause, Lifeline Maroochydore.”
The new look will follow a colour palette of blue and white with pops of orange and incorporate natural materials inspired by the property’s beachfront position.
Vinyl timber flooring will be introduced to common spaces, while bedrooms will be fitted with dark blue carpet, light blue walls, new balcony settings and an emphasis on timber furniture.
Deluxe apartments will feature new artwork inspired by local coastal habitats, oversized armchairs and walk-in showers.
Positioned on Marcoola Beach, the resort features a 60-metre-long outdoor lagoon pool, children’s wading pool, day spa, gym, onsite restaurant and bar and six function and events spaces.
Club members can hire push bikes, e-bikes, surfboards and boogie boards for free.
Club Wyndham South Pacific, developed by Travel + Leisure Co., features 54 resorts across Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Hawaii and Europe, and has close to 60,000 members
