Australia’s first Mondrian Hotel and Residences has begun welcoming guests with the opening of Mondrian Gold Coast.

Designed by architects Fraser and Partners, the 208-room luxury lifestyle hotel overlooks the shores at Burleigh Heads on the southern Gold Coast. An expansive accommodation offering, designed by California-based Studio Carter, includes 132 Studios, 63 Suites and 10 two- and three-bedroom Homes, with full kitchens, open plan living and laundry facilities. Two private two- and three-bedroom Beach Houses include plunge pools, while the Sky House on the 24th floor features a chef’s kitchen, bar and five-metre-high windows overlooking the coastline. The hotel claims that rooms are “twice the size of the national average” and offer panoramic views across the Pacific Ocean, Burleigh Headland and the hinterland. A relaxed food and beverage offering includes ground floor Italian restaurant, Lito, led by Italian-born Head Chef Andrea Morigi (formerly of Merivale’s Uccello). The all-day restaurant features alfresco dining and interiors by Alexander and Co. Haven, also designed by Alexander and Co., is led by Chef Aaron Teece (formerly of EST., Felix, Manly Pavilion, and Studio Neon founder), who delivers a menu centred on seafood, woodfire cooking and regional sourcing. The hotel’s expansive wellness offering includes a 24/7 Technogym-equipped fitness centre, Ciel Spa, offering bio-wellness treatments and restorative therapies with advanced technology; magnesium-infused plunge pools and a 24-metre resort-style pool. The hotel offers event space across four levels, with 20 adaptable venues including the sunlit Mondrian Ballroom, beachfront residences for intimate gatherings, and the sky-high VeeRoom. With a focus on community, storytelling and design, guests can expect evolving calendar of cultural programming, from artist collaborations to music showcases and immersive experiences.
