New breakfast experience at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney

by James Wilkinson

Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney‘s Altitude restaurant on level 36 has launched a new breakfast experience with spectacular views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House.

For the first time, Altitude has opened its doors for breakfast with three distinct offerings created by Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney Executive Chef, Michael Elfwing – an à la carte menu, with a banquette of breakfast favourites, and a scrumptious bakery atrium.

“We’ve created Sydney’s highest breakfast as a feast of the senses in every way. From the food to the breathtaking sights, all blending the very best local produce as you look out on the iconic Sydney view,” said Elfwing.

Breakfast lovers will savour delicious dishes, including French Toast topped with walnut and honey ice cream, or Benedict Crumpets with poached eggs, dill and smoked salmon.

An enclave of pastry and fresh sourdough loaves await at an extravagant bakery atrium by artisanal country bakery – Sonoma Bakers. Think seasonal fruit brioche, babka loaf, almond plié, cinnamon scrolls, and other morning delights.

Guests will weave through a carefully curated banquette of morning classics, including the freshest Australian fruit, local cheeses, succulent salads, cured meats, and a signature yoghurt bar.

Altitude breakfast is available at Shangri-La Hotel, Sydney, 176 Cumberland Street, The Rocks, from 6:00 to 10:30 a.m. Monday to Friday and 6:30 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday to Sunday, and is priced at AUD$59 per person.
