Available on flights from March 31, 2024, Premium Economy Class customers will now be offered a glass of Charles de Cazanove Brut Tradition NV champagne shortly after take-off.
Customers can also peruse a hard copy menu card that lists the wide variety of meal, snack, and beverage options that are available on their flight. Plus, meals will also be served on elegant custom-made porcelain Premium Economy Class serviceware.
On flights that are at least seven hours long, an all-new Out of the Woods amenity kit, designed exclusively for Premium Economy Class customers, will also be available.
These mark the first comprehensive revamp of SIA’s Premium Economy Class in-flight experience since this cabin class was introduced in 2015, allowing the Airline to continue delivering a distinctive level of service to customers.
“Since its introduction in 2015, Premium Economy Class has become popular with our customers,” said Singapore Airlines Senior Vice President Customer Experience, Yeoh Phee Teik.
“They appreciate the added amenities, heightened comfort, and the extra personal space it offers, all at an excellent value,” he said.
“At Singapore Airlines, though, our philosophy is to never stand still. We regularly gather customer feedback and conduct market research, learn more about the evolving value drivers for travellers, and find innovative ways to continue delivering a personalised and world-class in-flight experience.
“Based on these insights, we have undertaken this comprehensive revamp of our Premium Economy Class in-flight offerings, which we believe will delight our customers.
“Our upcoming new cabin products and in-flight entertainment system will further reinforce our goal of delivering a distinctive level of service.
“All of this reflects Singapore Airlines’ dedication to elevating the Premium Economy Class experience to a class of its own,” he said.
Singapore Airlines has developed over 200 new appetisers, main courses, and desserts as part of this expansion of the Premium Economy Class in-flight meals.
Premium Economy Class meals will consist of a seasonal appetiser, main course, bread, dessert, and cheese and cracker, all served on a full-sized tray.
The airlines has also upgraded bread options to include croissants for breakfast or garlic bread rolls for lunch, dinner, and supper, and customers may choose from two premium main course options, either international or Asian cuisine, on every flight.
Customers may also choose from an expanded Book the Cook menu, which features up to 20 dishes available on rotation, for pre-order at least 24 hours before departure.
Lending an air of elegance, the meals will be served in contemporary stoneware glazed porcelain serviceware and these will be presented on a linen-lined tray, along with neatly tucked silverware.
Complementing the meals are a selection of wines and Champagne, curated by Singapore Airlines’ panel of wine experts exclusively for the Premium Economy Class cabin.
Between meals, customers can request for new snack options such as almonds and cashews and these are on top of the existing wide variety of snacks such as potato chips, assorted buns, sandwiches, and muffins, as well as flavoured popcorn.
Singapore Airlines has also partnered with Out of the Woods, a US-based manufacturer of eco-friendly and sustainable lifestyle products, to introduce a new amenity kit for Premium Economy Class customers.
The amenity pouch is made from eco-friendly Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified kraft paper fabric, and includes eyeshades and slippers made from recycled PET material.
The kit also incorporates a lip balm packaged in biodegradable material. Toiletries, such as dental kits and moisturiser, will continue to be available in the lavatory.
