Hot property: Hilton Los Angeles Airport embarks on $50 million makeover

by James Wilkinson

Hilton Los Angeles Airport has embarked on a US$50 million renovation of its 1,234-room hotel, located close to LAX Airport, SoFi Stadium, Intuit Dome and The Kia Forum.

“It’s a once-in-a-generation moment for Los Angeles… few cities have experienced such a remarkable lineup of global sporting events in consecutive years,” said Hilton Los Angeles Airport General Manager, Jeff Ragonese.

“As the world arrives for the FIFA World Cup in 2026, the Super Bowl in 2027, and the Olympic Games in 2028, Hilton Los Angeles Airport stands ready to host guests with refreshed spaces and hospitality that reflect the energy and spirit of this incredible city and is also worthy of the world’s stage.”

Guest accommodations will be fully refreshed, with all two-double-bed rooms converted to two-queen-bed configurations. The refreshed design combines modern minimalism with mid-century influences, emphasizing clean lines, neutral tones, and natural textures.

Queen room types will feature warm orange accents for a vibrant touch, while king rooms will incorporate deep teal tones for a refined, calming atmosphere.

Each room will include contemporary furnishings, redesigned bathrooms with a standing shower or shower/tub combination, new mattresses, mini-refrigerators, enhanced lighting, and upgraded connectivity with USB and USB-C charging outlets.

Accessible rooms will also feature automated curtain controls and other ADA-compliant enhancements.

Several renovated floors are already open ahead of the holiday travel season, including high-floor guest rooms and suites, many with LAX runway views or views of nearby entertainment landmarks.

The full project is slated for completion before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which kicks off next June at SoFi Stadium.

As Los Angeles prepares for an overall unprecedented influx of global travel in the coming year and beyond, Ragonese said the hotel’s updated design and proximity to both the airport and major venues will position it as a premier destination for international and business travelers, families, sports fans, concertgoers and media.
