First look: inside Thai’s new Royal Orchid Prestige Lounge in Bangkok

by James Wilkinson

Thai Airways has opened a new Royal Orchid Prestige Lounge at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The new Royal Orchid Prestige Lounge is adjacent to the existing Royal Silk Business and Royal First Class Lounges with a separate entrance from the existing lounge and also from Concourse D, Level 3.

The lounge is modelled on an ecological green mood concept, ensuring a tranquil setting away from the bustle of a busy airport terminal.

Experience traditional Thai hospitality during a short transit or before your next international flight within this oasis of relaxation.

The layout, although spacious, provides many quiet nooks for a read or rest with shower facilities available to freshen up between or before a flight.

Work stations are available if required with charging points available throughout the lounge. Indulge in specially created hot and cold Thai signature dishes, order a freshly-cooked dish from the open kitchen or visit the cocktail bar for a made-to-order beverage of choice. Self-service coffee machines and ice-cream/gelato bars are also available.

The Royal Orchid Prestige Lounge spans 2,089 square meters and features two zones; the west zone for Royal First Class passengers and Platinum Royal Orchid Plus members and the east zone for Royal Silk Class passengers, Royal Orchid Plus Gold Card and Gold Star Alliance members.

The opening of the Royal Orchid Prestige lounge adds another option to the total of nine premium lounges available throughout the Suvarnabhumi Bangkok Airport terminal for the convenience of Thai’s premium travellers.

For premium customers travelling with children, a small play area with a selection of toys is available in the adjacent Royal Orchid Lounge.

The award-winning Royal Orchid Spa Lounge remains a popular retreat on Concourse D, opposite the existing Royal Orchid First Class lounge entrance.

According to Thai, premium customers wishing to access the Spa facilities should check with reception on arrival at the Airport for availability to avoid disappointment during busy periods.

Thai’s Economy Class customers can purchase Royal Orchid Lounge passes via travel agents or directly with Thai.
