Fiji Airways orders Airbus A350s as company posts record revenue

by James Wilkinson

Fiji Airways is set to add the Airbus A350-900 to its fleet as demand continues to grow across the boutique airline’s network.

The A350s will be delivered in November and December this year and will be used across the network, particularly on Australian and United States route.

The announcement today (May 2) came as Fiji Airways announced it had recorded revenue for the year ending December 31, 2018, tipping over the FJD$1 billion revenue mark for the first time in the South Pacific airline’s history.

Fiji Airways’ group revenue increased 10% to F$1.02 billion compared to F$929 million for the previous year, on the back of carrying more than 1.7 million passengers in 2018, compared to 1.6 million passengers during the previous year.

The airline has also revealed its popular San Francisco service will be extended to a year-round offering.
