Eat up: Fonda’s fantastic Mexican catering

by James Wilkinson

Australia’s popular Mexican restaurant group Fonda, founded by Tim McDonald and Dave Youl in Melbourne’s Richmond in 2010, is offering a new catering menu just in time for the warm weather and silly season antics.

According to the founders, in Mexico, a ‘fonda’ is a home that serves the community delicious and simple food that has been lovingly prepared and the group is taking that concept one step further, with the new Fonda catering menu that gives people the tools to turn any event into a hostess haven.

“The menu features a whole new lineup of never-before-seen Fonda dishes exclusive to the catering menu, bringing your guests on a culinary journey, fuelled with high-quality, fresh, Australian produce,” the founders said.

“No matter the occasion, Fonda has it handled [and the menu is] perfect for celebrations, birthdays and private or corporate events.

“So, throw out the chicken sandwiches and tell the office manager that there will be no fruit platters at this year’s work Christmas party, Fonda has it covered.”

Highlights of the menu include Tortilla Crisps, Corn Ribs, Chipotle Mac & Cheese Croquettes, Chicken Taquitos, Sweet Potato & Lentil Empanadas, Corn & Black Bean Empanadas, Chilli Con Carne Empanadas and Pork Sliders.

The packs, which range from AU$70 to AU$200, are available from Fonda’s Melbourne locations in Richmond, Windsor, Hawthorn, Knox, Chadstone, Flinders Lane and Collingwood, alongside Surry Hills and Bondi in Sydney.
