Sofi creator and Queensland native, Tommy Maclean, said the Sky Spritz is an ode to Australian native botanicals, featuring Davidson Plum and Finger Lime, both of which hail from the subtropical rainforests of Queensland.
He said Sofi first started working with Qantas in 2017, originally providing cocktails in its airport lounges, and this special recipe has been under development for over a year now, taking their strong Aussie partnership to new heights.
Maclean said Sofi called on the expertise of 5th generation winemaker Simon Gilbert from Mudgee to create this soaring Australian spritz.
“Sofi was originally inspired by my travels around the world so it is really special to help QANTAS celebrate Australia’s return to international skies,” he said.
“Working with an iconic Australian brand like Qantas motivated us to encapsulate some of the unique flavours of our country and of course, we wanted everything to be locally sourced and all-natural as always.
“We are excited to share this refreshing taste of Australia with international travellers before they touch down,” Maclean said.
