Vranken-Pommery Australia has signed a two-year partnership with the National Gallery of Victoria as the official Champagne of Australia’s oldest and most visited art gallery.

For more than 20 years, the Vranken-Pommery Monopole Group has supported contemporary arts through the organisation of exhibitions in its native France and around the world, and remains committed to celebrating art and culture as part of its global vision for the brand.

Champagne Pommery will be served at the third annual NGV Gala which takes place on Saturday 30 November and coincides with the opening of Keith Haring | Jean-Michel Basquiat: Crossing Lines, an exhibition intertwining the work of two of the world’s most celebrated conceptual artists. The NGV Gala will welcome British fashion royalty Georgia-May Jagger and Lizzy Jagger, music duo Salt-N-Pepa as well as Australian actors Bella Heathcote, Phoebe Tonkin and Magda Szubanski.

Pommery will return as Champagne partner for the 2020 NGV Gala and opening of the Triennial 2020.

During winter next year, the popular NGV Friday Nights returns to Melbourne and Champagne Pommery will be an Event Partner for the series, partnering on the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces 2020: Pierre Bonnard | India Mahdavi exhibition as a Supporter. This will continue the following year as Champagne Pommery will be a Supporter for the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces 2021.

Commenting on the partnership, owner of the house Madame Nathalie Vranken said: “Contemporary art and culture is the beating heart of our Maison and besides hosting monumental exhibitions into our underground caves along vintages of Champagne, over the past two decades we have partnered with major institutions like the Centre Pompidou and supported shows and exhibitions around the world including the Armory Show in New York, Villa Medicis in Rome and the Mori Museum in Tokyo.”

Inge Fransen, CEO Vranken-Pommery Australia adds: “We are absolutely thrilled to partner with the revered National Gallery of Victoria here in Australia, the most beautiful expression of two exceptional entities coming together.”

Added NGV Director, Tony Elwood AM: “The National Gallery of Victoria is extremely pleased to announce Pommery as our Champagne Partner for the NGV Gala and our upcoming Melbourne Winter Masterpieces. We look forward to working with this iconic Champagne House.”
