American Airlines is adding more services to Australia, with the launch of three weekly flights between Los Angeles and Brisbane.

The services, in partnership with Qantas, come alongside the resumption of American’s seasonal service from Dallas Fort Worth to Brisbane this October with its newly-designed Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

“American is proud to partner with Qantas to increase travel options for customers to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne this winter,” said American’s Vice Chair and Chief Strategy Officer, Steve Johnson.

“Together, we offer the most comprehensive service connecting the United States with Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.

“For our customers, this means more ways to plan vacations to visit friends and family or jet off for a new adventure in one of the most picturesque regions of the world.”

Qantas Group CEO of International, Cam Wallace, said: “The strength of our partnership with American Airlines continues to bring great benefit to our customers around the world. We know Australia remains very popular with U.S. travellers, and these changes will provide increased connectivity onto our vast domestic network to some of Australia’s most unique destinations.”

This winter, American and Qantas will offer up to seven weekly flights to Los Angeles, providing convenient daily flights for customers connecting Queensland’s sensational coastlines, world-famous zoos and more with the City of Angels.

Following a successful season of operation on American’s first-ever flights Dallas Fort Worth to Brisbane, this popular flight will return for winter service starting October 25.

American also recently announced its newly designed Boeing 787-9 aircraft featuring 51 Flagship Suite seats and 32 Premium Economy seats will be available on all flights between Dallas Fort Worth and Brisbane.

American’s customers have more ways to enhance their travel experience. In addition to existing opportunities for American’s AAdvantage members to earn and redeem miles for travel on Qantas, AAdvantage members can also use their miles to upgrade to a higher cabin of service on Qantas on select fares.
