LiveStay’s apartment-hotel footprint expands in Melbourne

LiveStay has opened a new 100-key property in Melbourne as part of the continued expansion of its Punthill Apartment Hotels portfolio across Australia.

Punthill Epping, in Melbourne’s growing northern corridor and the landmark $2 billion New Epping urban renewal precinct developed by Riverlee, is expected to offer premium extended stay accommodation to the region, supported by demand from corporate travellers, health care professionals, and leisure guests.

Located at 25 Greengate Way, Epping, the new property is strategically positioned within Melbourne’s largest public-private healthcare cluster and adjacent to major commercial, retail and industrial precincts.

“Melbourne’s northern growth corridor has experienced enormous transformation over recent years, yet the supply of high-quality apartment hotel accommodation has not kept pace with demand,” LiveStay CEO, Zed Sanjana said.

“Punthill Epping has been purpose-built to support the needs of modern travellers seeking flexible, self-contained accommodation, whether they are visiting for business, healthcare, relocation, training or leisure.”

Sanjana said New Epping’s emergence as a major economic and healthcare destination made it a natural fit for the Punthill brand.

“We look very carefully at locations where long-term population growth, infrastructure investment and business activity are converging,” he said. “New Epping and the surrounding northern growth corridor is one of the clearest examples of that anywhere in Victoria right now.”

“The combination of healthcare expansion, industrial and commercial growth, and the significant investment being delivered through the New Epping precinct gives us enormous confidence in the long-term strength of this market.”

Developed in partnership with Riverlee, Punthill Epping forms part of the broader New Epping masterplan, a 51-hectare mixed-use development that will ultimately deliver approximately 2,000 homes, 110,000sqm of commercial and retail space, healthcare facilities, public open space and community infrastructure.

“Punthill Epping brings high-quality accommodation to a region experiencing extraordinary growth and investment,” Riverlee Development Director, David Lee said.

“As New Epping continues to evolve into a major regional centre for Melbourne’s north, the hotel will play an important role in supporting business activity, healthcare visitation and the broader community connected to the precinct.”

Designed for both short and extended stays, Punthill Epping offers a mix of studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, including interconnecting and accessible room options, and features fully equipped kitchens, smart TVs and in-room laundry facilities.

On-site facilities include a conference and meeting space, a future restaurant, a fully equipped gymnasium, guest pantry, reception and lobby area, as well as car parking spaces.

“Guests increasingly want accommodation that offers more flexibility, more space and the comforts of home, particularly for longer stays,” Sajana said.

“Punthill Epping has been created to cater for that demand, whether someone is staying for one night, one week or longer. The ability to work, cook, relax and maintain normal routines while travelling is becoming increasingly important.”

LiveStay also anticipates growing interest from leisure travellers exploring Melbourne’s expanding northern region.

“We see significant opportunity in Melbourne’s north over the next decade,” added Sanjana.

“Epping is evolving into a true regional centre, and we’re excited for Punthill Epping to become part of that growth story.”
