Wayfarer TV: Qatar Airways’ massive global expansion continues

by James Wilkinson

Qatar Airways’ massive global expansion has continued in recent weeks, with airline inaugurating flights to Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city, a couple of weeks ago.

The new four times-weekly service from Doha to the airline’s second gateway in Greece commenced just one month ahead of the launch of its third destination in Greece, the popular island of Mykonos.

Thessaloniki is one of 16 new destinations Qatar Airways is launching in 2018 globally as the airline continues its rapid expansion.

Qatar Airways has been operating to Greece (Athens) since June 2005, and in 2015 increased its service to the Greek capital from twice daily to three times daily to meet growing demand.

Flights to Thessaloniki are operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 seats in Economy Class.

Soon after the launch, WAYFARER TV Host James Wilkinson caught up with Qatar Airways’ Country Manager for Greece, Theresa Cissell, to find out about the new flights, Qatar Airways’ global expansion and much more.
